GEOMETRIC AMBIENCE
Challenged with creating a module for a self-supporting shelving system, I experimented with folding a variety of geometries. Ultimately the Octahedral form was developed by assembling six equilateral triangles.
The form allows a variation of apertures when the modules are rotated in the assembly of a wall. Three of the module’s interior panels are painted a bright color, while the adjacent three panels are painted white to promote the module’s ability to reflect light and color. The flat top accommodates use as a stool and the angled walls allow a variety of patterns when the modules are stacked.
